Baby Dolphin Booties 2017

“What are you going to do when you finish your coffee?”
“Well, I probably make a video of a new pattern.”

This way started my afternoon today. My little one was sleeping and I was hoping to have enough time for finishing this video pattern. Although the video is in Czech, you can switch off the sound and just follow the English instructions. I hope it will work well for you.

Baby shoes Dolphin 2017
Size: 9 cm, it is for a one month old baby
Yarn: Himalaya Baby Dolphin Chenille Yarn grey (80320) and white (80301), have a peak zde
Yarn alternatives for overseas are:
– Kartopu Yumurcak
– Universal Yarn Bella Chenille
– Katia Bambi
– King Cole Yumi
– Red Heart Velvety
Weight: Super Bulky
Meterage: 100 g (3.53 ounces)/120 m (135 yards) (! be careful original yarn Himalaya is a little bit thinner than Bernat blanket yarn so the result might vary)
Hook size: 6 mm (I crochet pretty tight so you may need smaller hooks)
Time: at about 2-3 hours

US terminology:
MC – Magic Circle
Sl St – slip stitch
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC –  half double crochet
Shell pattern – three SC into one loop
Each row starts with either 1 CH = Single Crochet or 1 loose CH = Half Double Crochet. You can end with SlSt or crochet around with the help of marker. This pattern is written in a column style the way you crochet.

SOLE

1st row:
HDC into second chain from the hook (that is to the seventh loop, you need to have another six free loops to follow the pattern) (here is the heel of the shoe)
5 HDC (one HDC into one CH)
5xHDC (five HDC into the last CH, crochet back around the chain, here is the tip/front of the shoe)
5xHDC (one HDC into one CH)
2xHDC (two HDC into the chain you make the very first HDC)

2nd row:
one loose CH as a substitution for the first HDC, another HDC into the same place (you need to find the small gap on the right site of the substitution, make HDC here)

5x2HDC (double each HDC in the tip/front of the shoe)
