Neckwarmer could be a scarf. With a pattern

I finally translated also this pattern. Winter has not ended yet so you still have a time for this project.

It fits a six-month-old baby and also to a six-year-old girl that is why I love this scarf. It has a button so you can easily change the size according to age. You can also make a matching hat to this – pattern here.

So let´s get started.

Length: 49 cm/19.2 in
Yarn: Himalaya Baby Dolphin Chenille Yarn, Yarnart Dolce
Yarn alternatives for overseas are:
– YarnArt Dolce

Need: 3 different colors. Color A, Color B, Color C
Weight: Super Bulky
Meterage: 100 g (3.53 ounces)/120 m (131 yards)
Hook: 6
Time: at about 1 hour

For beginners

US terminology:
MC – Magic Circle
Sl St – slip stitch
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
Each row starts with either 1 CH = Single Crochet or 2 CH = Double Crochet and ends with SlSt.

Color A
1st row: 51 CH or elastic chain, video here, turn.
2nd row: 1 DC into each CH from the previous row. The gaps between DC will be the future button holes.
3nd row: shell pattern – 7 DC in one loop; start with a SC, then crochet a shell into third loop, then crochet SC into following third loop, repeat. You have 7 shells in a row. Turn. With a slip stitch go to the middle of the last/first shell and start with color B.

Color B
4th row: start with a SC in the middle of the shell. Make a shell into the SC from the previous row, make a SC in the middle of the following shell from the previous row. Repeat. You have 6 shells in a row. Turn. With a slip stitch go to the middle of the last/first shell and start with color C.

Color C
5th row: start with a SC in the middle of the shell. Make a shell into the SC from the previous row, make a SC in the middle of the following shell from the previous row. Repeat. You have 5 shells in a row. Turn. With a slip stitch go to the middle of the last/first shell and start with color A.

Color A
6th row: start with a SC in the middle of the shell. Make a shell into the SC from the previous row, make a SC in the middle of the following shell from the previous row. Repeat. You have 4 shells in a row. Turn. With a slip stitch go to the middle of the last/first shell and start with color B.

Color B
7th row: start with a SC in the middle of the shell. Make a shell into the SC from the previous row, make a SC in the middle of the following shell from the previous row. Repeat. You have 3 shells in a row. Turn. With a slip stitch go to the middle of the last/first shell and start with color C.

Color C
8th row: start with a SC in the middle of the shell. Make a shell into the SC from the previous row, make a SC in the middle of the following shell from the previous row. Repeat. You have 2 shells in a row. Turn. With a slip stitch go to the middle of the last/first shell and start with color A.

Color A
9th row: start with a SC in the middle of the shell. Make a shell into the SC from the previous row, make a SC in the middle of the following shell from the previous row. Repeat. You have only one shell in a row. Finish off.

Take a contrasting color and into every second loop/gap make small shells around the scarf. Small shell consists of 1SC, 1 HDC, 1 SC. In the tip of the scarf make a shell which consists of 5 HDC.

Finish:
Sew the button. The pattern works only with three different colors.
