A Heart with a Face Mask

Just to say “Thank you” to all who fights the virus. That is a heart with a face mask and a smile.

I used yarn Mirka of the Czech yarn producer Niťarna Česká Třebová. It is 100% cotton, ecologically dyed. The skein has 50 grams and 90 meters. If you possibly find a similar yarn substitution, which suits this pattern, please write it to the comment for the others also interested in this crochet pattern. I made four hearts from one skein (50g).

This heart is made of two pieces. They are joined with a single crochet in the last row. Do not forget to stuff it a little bit before finishing off. A face mask is crocheted separately. I embroidered the smile first and then I sew the mask to the heart. Eyes are the last adding.

Enjoy crocheting and stay home and healthy.

Make the second part of the heart, do not finish off. Joint two pieces together with a SC. Make three SC in the bottom tip and four SlSt in the upper “V” part of the heart. Do not forget to stuff the heart before you finish off.

Face Mask, white, hook 2 mm
1st row: CH 9, leave a long thread
2nd row: hook to the second chain from the hook, SC, then SC to the every CH, turn. (7)
3rd – 11th row: CH2, hook to the same place, SC, then SC to SC, count, last stitch to the CH, turn (7).
12th row: CH2, hook to the same place, SC, then SC to SC, count, last stitch to the CH, then CH6, finish off (this is the loop of the face mask).

Make CH 5 or 6 from the long thread at the beginnig of the face mask (other loop of the face mask). Embroider the smile to the mask. Sew the loops and the bottom part of the face mask to the heart. Sew the eyes on the heart. You can add the loop to the heart so it could be hanged or add a key chain.

Enjoy crocheting.
