Perla baby booties

I have recently made a video review for a new yarn brand VlnaHep Perla (pearl in English). This yarn is a combination of 60%bamboo and 40%cotton. This thread has antibacterial and anti-allergic features. It warms you when you are cold and cools you when you are hot. When you double the thread for hats, it is also a perfect for winter time. On top of that it is suitable for babies.

For testing I decided to make a baby booties. And here is the free pattern.

Perla Baby shoes, 10 cm/3.7 in, 2-4 months (varies according to a baby size)
Yarn: VlnaHep white 8002, turquoise 8124 and light green 8145, pictures here.
Hook: 4 and 5 mm
Overseas alternatives: you can substitute this yarn by Himalaya Deluxe Bamboo, Kartopu Bambu or any other yarn with this parameters – hook 3-4 mm/US 3-6, 100gr/3.53 oz. or 230m/251 yds per ball, yarn thickness 2 Fine Sport, Baby.
Leather string
Marker or a piece of yarn
Time: 2-3 hours
Suitable for pre-intermediate

US terminology:
Sl St – slip stitch
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet
FPSC – front post single crochet
BPSC – back post single crochet
HDC half double crochet
DS – double crochet
2SCtog – two single crochet together as one
2HDCtog – two half double crochet together as one

Each row starts with either 1 CH = Single Crochet or 1 loose CH = Half Double Crochet and ends with SlSt. This not apply if you use markers and crochet in circles. This pattern is written in columns that is the way the shoe is usually crocheted. Also you start the sole with a chain and continue around this chain.

SOLE
Turquoise, doubled, hook 4mm

1st row:
HDC into second chain from the hook (that is to the tenth loop, you need to have another nine free loops to follow the pattern) (here is the heel of the shoe)
8 HDC (one HDC into one CH)
5xHDC (five HDC into the last CH, crochet back around the chain, here is the tip/front of the shoe)
8xHDC (one HDC into one CH)
3xHDC (three HDC into the chain you make the very first HDC)

2nd row:
one loose CH as a substitution for the first HDC, another HDC into the same place (you need to find the small gap on the right site of the substitution, make HDC here)

one chain as a substitution for the first SC
make one FPSC and BPSC, repeat around the whole shoe (that is FPSC to the FPSC from the previous row, BPSC to the BPSC from the previous row)

7th row:
Light green, doubled, hook 4mm
one chain as a substitution for the first SC
find the middle of the shoe – face the sole of the shoe and try to find the middle stitch, count 14 loops (the middle incl) to the right and 14 loops to the left, insert markers to the loops on the right and on the left
crochet SC to the place where you inserted the marker from that place make

continue with SC
SlSt or use marker and crochet around

8th row:
one chain as a substitution for the first SC
crochet SC to the place where we started making 2HDCtog in the previous row, from here

LOWER BRIM

Face the false tongue of the shoe, insert the hook to the outter loops around the sole, make SlSt around the whole sole.

Finishing
I usually sew the yarn in the shoe without making knots. Insert the leather string and make a false shoelace.
